On 5 May this year, a woman flew on budget airline Thai Smile from Phuket to Bangkok. When he arrived at the airport, her suitcase was missing and airport staff could not find it. The passenger waited till 1am but her baggage still could not be located.
The following day, the airport found her bag but it turned out in an extremely damaged state. The suitcase was damaged beyond recognition and her macbook plus other appliance were cracked or dented.
The airline apologised for the damage and offered a measly 2,000 baht compensation for her troubles. This was insufficient to cover the damage done to the contents in her bag.
Still think travelling on budget airline is wise? Why in the world would you even check in your Macbook in the luggage?
