A 43 year old man was convicted and jailed 3 months for slamming the head of a 14 yr old boy against the wall after the boy threw eggs at his daughter who was playing at the playground. This incident happened on 9 August 2016 during National Day at Block 115 Gangsa Road.
The assailant Kamaruzaman was visiting relatives with his wife and daughters in the area. His daughters played at a nearby playground while his wife watched over them.
The 14 year old boy saw them and decided to prank them by throwing eggs at them from the 3rd floor of the HDB block. The eggs did not hit the girls but Kamaruzaman's wife saw it and confronted the pranksters. Angered, she called her husband who flew into a rage when he arrived,
Kamaruzaman confronted the boy, slapped him and kneed him in the stomach. After that he grabbed his hair and smashed his head into the wall along the corridor. Despite the heavy beating, Kamaruzaman dragged the boy by his hair to the playground and asked his daughters to slap the kid. When they refused, he encouraged them to by promising them rewards if they did.
Passersby saw the crying boy and helped called an ambulance. The boy was given 4 days of medical leave for his injuries.
