Singapore to sign MOU with India for exchange of experts in the field of intellectual property

After offending China, Lee Hsien Loong will be heading to India for a 3-day visit from 4 to 7 Oct. During his visit, Lee will meet with the Indian Prime Minister.

A key agenda for the visit will be the signing of an MOU with India to facilitate the exchange of "experts" between the 2 countries in the field of Intellectual Property.

Responding to TAV's post, one netizen shared that this exchange of experts meant more Indian foreign talents would be coming to Singapore.

"Exchange of experts means more Indian experts coming to SG. If India has degree mills, how much respect does the country give to intellectual property protection? Oh well, degree mills are also intellectual property in a class of its own..."

Excerpt below:

"The government today approved signing an MoU with Singapore to give boost to innovation, creativity and technological advancement in both countries.

Both sides would also exchange experts in the field of intellectual property; dissemination of best practices, experiences and knowledge on IP with the industry and universities.

The MoU will enable India to exchange experiences in the innovation and IP ecosystems that will substantially benefit entrepreneurs, investors and businesses on both sides."
