Twitter user Reg (ppariah) booked an Uber ride on Sunday (2 Oct). It was supposed to be a short ride to her office in Sentosa. According to the map, the route was straightforward. The driver just needed to take the bridge over to Sentosa and then make two turns. Uber had estimated that the cost of the ride would be $5.46.
However, the driver took another route which not only extended the 10 mins ride to a 1h ride, it also increase the fare of the ride from $5.46 to $14.50.
Reg claimed that she had tried to tell the driver the correct route. However, he insisted that he knew the way.
In the end, she was 2h late for work because of the 30mins wait and the 1h city tour to her office.
