A comic series has been taken off the shelves of Popular bookstore after the company received complains that its contents were inappropriate for young children.

The book, "My Bad Romance", is the second installation from the series, "Bro don't like that la, bro". The comic series is based on five random guys in Malaysia.

A spokesman for Popular said that the book is meant for those aged 18 and above, and is categorised under the "Local Interest" category in the adults section.

Warning labels were also placed on each copy of the book to inform potential readers of its mature content.

Popular has since apologised for the inconvenience caused.
