Why the **** are they planning to expand (2030) the NEL to more stations in punggol when it is already congested in the first place.
The problem lies with the daily ridership that is already too concentrated at punggol/sengkang.
Something needs to be done by diverting the flow from those heavily concentrated BTO areas.
And mind you most of these people are heading to doby and outram. Please find other ways to link the North East residents to these 2 stations. This NEL system will overload sooner or later when sengkang/punggol will be further flooded with residents. It is already packed like sardines by the time it reaches sengkang. Hougang and Kovan residents onwards can suck thumb.
Think the system will collapse sooner or later once Bidadari (Potong Pasir) is developed in a few years time.
You dont see this much a problem for NS and EW line as the passenger flow is more evenly spread.
NEL is also simply the most busy line (worse than EW and NS) even at 10pm.
