It has been reported that a man had been lurking near Bukit Timah, in the vicinity of girls schools, to conduct bogus surveys.
The man in his fourties was frequently seen at the bus-stop near the various schools and at times, the overhead bridge near Bukit Timah Road.
As part of the "survey", the man would cajole the school girls into allowing him to take photographs of them. He would also ask them for their contact number.
Subsequently, the man would upload the photographs of the girls online. He would also harass them through texts. 2 police reports were lodged against him.
Yesterday morning (Oct 24), the police went to Nanyang Girls’ High School to caution the students against the man. They also provided the school with a photograph of the man.
The same afternoon, the pervert was arrested near Raffles Girls' Primary school. Investigations are ongoing.
