WP'S CLASSY RESPONSE TO AMKTC "CORRUPTION" SHOWS WHY THEY ARE S'PORES TOP OPPOSITION

Dear Editors,

After news of CPIB investigation into Victor Ng, the General Manager at Ang Mo Kio Town Council, many Singaporeans have called for the PAP to come clean and accused them of sweeping things under the carpet. In their anger, many jumped to conclusions and say AMKTC is already guilty of corruption and AGO needs to come in to investigate all their accounts.

Some even suggested that AMKTC should be scrutinized the way AHTC was during the AHPETC FMSS saga. Even though this was a chance for WP to strike back at the PAP and say karma is a bitch, they did not.

How did WP react? They reacted with class and decorum unlike many of the other Opposition parties. WP took a neutral ground and simply told their supporters to not pervert the course of justice and wait for full investigations by the CPIB and authorities to be completed before making judgement. This is what a true opposition party does, constructive but not jumping to premature conclusions.

I think this is why WP is a well respected Opposition party, going by the book, going by the facts, never making false accusations against others. Respect. Majulah Singapore, Majulah WP!

"Since CPIB is investigating the AMKTC case, we should let due process take its course and not jump to conclusions. When the July 2016 report by KPMG on AHTC came out, AHTC ordered a 100% check on the $60m direct journal entry and dummy code issues.

Some people jumped prematurely on the possibility of fraud and fictitious payments without waiting for the results of the audit. When no fraud and fictitious payments were found, the speculators kept quiet.

Premature speculation, especially when done by influential people, may pervert the course of justice by shaping investigations. So let’s wait for the findings of the CPIB on the AMKTC case and let the law take its course."
