Dear A.S.S. Editor
Saw in the news today that Indonesian visitor became the latest winner of the "Changi Be A Millionaire" draw. Congratulations to the guy, becoming an instant millionaire just for spending a minimum of $50. He will probably have very good memories of Singapore. Good for him.
What makes me angry is that we can give away millions in prize money to our visitors from abroad, just to make sure they have a very good opinion of Singapore. But when it comes to helping own citizens, giving just $100 also is a very difficult thing to do. Already medical bills for the elderly and young children very high, with very little help. Then the cost of living already high, not much help coming Singaporeans way either.
We can spend millions to make tourists happy to be in Singapore, but we cannot spend the millions to help needy Singaporeans instead. I say, well done!
