Dear A.S.S. Editor
Our National water agency, PUB, will be taking action against the contractor of the MRT station construction site, Sato Kogyo, for causing the flash floods that hit Upper Thomson Road on Christmas Eve.
According to the reports, an investigation taken by the PUB indicated that the construction of the nearby Upper Thomson MRT Station had affected the public drainage system, which in turn caused the flood to happen. A temporary diversion drain constructed by the company within the worksite was found to be undersized. PUB was also not informed of the temporary drainage system. PUB had ordered the contractor to carry out rectification works immediately.
If not wrong, many businesses in the area was affected by the flood on that day, and lost lots of money due to forced closure and clean up. So, does that mean the businesses can claim form the contractors about the loss income?
