Lately it seems like not a week goes by without news of young Singaporeans winning all manner of international competitions.
Most recently, indoor skydiver Kyra Poh (who is just 14) has not only been flying the flag high, she herself is literally flying high, soaring and swooping up two gold medals and a silver at the 2017 Wind Games in Spain. (http://bbc.in/2jXqO6Q) I watched the clip of her winning routine with amazement.
On the culinary scene, chef Mathew Tham, was champion of the international IIHM Young Chef Olympiad 2017 held in India. (http://str.sg/4sqq)
It is exciting to see Singaporeans trying their hand at – and excelling in – areas others might consider unconventional. Congratulations to Kyra, Mathew, Eu-Wen and Kirsten for doing us proud! Keep chasing your rainbows! – LHL
