MAN PUSHES DEAF PERSON IN MRT, SHOUTS "GET OUT OF THE WAY!"

A netizen shared this unhappy incident in the MRT, where his deaf friend was shoved out of the way of an angry man in the MRT.

The incident happened at 6.40PM yesterday while the pair were travelling from Marina Bay to Jurong East.

The aggressor, who was described as tall, dark skinned, balding, wearing a white long sleeved office attire and appeared to have a serious case of body odor, pushed his deaf friend when he was trying to exit the train. He quickly ran away before the deaf person's friend could respond or even catch a better glimpse of the man.

The netizen shares that people should treat everyone around them with respect, regardless of whether the person has a disability or not. In this case, the man had clearly been rude and aggressive, he said.

RIP OFO BIKE, YOU WILL BE SORELY MISSED

This is the reason why Singaporeans can't have good things.

I found this bike brutally ripped apart in Taman Jurong Estate.

The thieves didn't leave anything except the body and parts they couldn't detach.

I hope whoever took off with the stolen parts gets their valuables stolen. This is what you are doing to others, may the same thing happen to you.

Singaporeans, show some integrity and stop abusing OFO bikes. They are for everyone, not just your selfish ass.

RELIABLE TRAVEL AGENCY HAS LICENCE REVOKED, CUSTOMERS HAVE JUNE HOLIDAYS RUINED

Dear A.S.S. Editor

A travel agency company, which had been in the industry since the 1990s, and is quite popular with local travelers here as they have a reliable reputation, closed down on Wednesday after the STB revoked their licence. STB indicated that the licence was revoked because of the company's failure to fulfill its obligations to its customers.

In a notice on the company's website, Misa Travel said it was closed for business and had ceased all services with immediate effect. Customers with unfulfilled trips or who required assistance were directed to email the company at admin@misatravel.com or to call at 9299 4968. Customers were also advised to make their claims via their travel insurance.

How did it come to this? Misa Travel is a reputable agency, which had been around for a long time, that people had trust in this company. to suddenly having its licence revoked, must have been a very serious issue within the company. Will customers then face the brunt of this sudden closure? STB confirm cannot help, thus affected customers can only claim via travel insurance, and maybe CASE.

Now is the school holidays, pity those customers who had already made bookings with the company, only to find out that their bookings are now void. How to make up for the lost time and money for these customers?

PAP MINISTER STAYS SILENT DESPITE LOCAL JOB ADS DISCRIMINATING AGAINST LOCALS WORKERS

<Credits: The Alternative View>

In the past two months, netizens have uncovered at least two job ads that openly discriminate against hiring of locals by specifying preference for a certain group of nationals.

The first - by Google - specifically asks for applicants who are fluent in Hindi while the second by Accenture states that graduates from US or Indian universities are preferred. Despite these blatant acts of discriminatory hiring, the MOM and current Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say have stayed silent.

This contrasts with the fanfare just before GE2015 when the PAP kept harping on the TAFEP (Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices). Are they just paying lip service to this issue or too afraid to take action due to Lee Hsien Loong's CECA with India?

ROCK THROWING ROAD RAGE DRIVER ARRESTED BY POLICE

Dear A.S.S. Editor

The man who was seen on video stopping his car in the middle of the road and hurling road at other road users, have been arrested by the police. The 42 year old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a road rage incident along Clementi Road last Saturday.

Police said the man was arrested on Wednesday after follow up investigations by their officers from the Jurong Police Division. Investigations against the man are ongoing.

Good that the police caught the man quick enough. We do not need this kind of road rage drivers on the road. Driving in Singapore already stressful enough with so many vehicles on the road, we do not need another idiot who thinks he owns the road and can anyhow try to bully other road users. Idiot thinks he can get away with throwing a rock? He should not be allowed on the roads on account of his stupidity alone.

FIERCE BLACK CAT INVADED MY HOME @ 1 AM, SCDF & SPF CALLED IN TO CHASE IT OUT

BURGLARY in my HOME at 1am! Really no idea what witchery or sorcery led the BLACK CAT came in! Door and windows were shut and locked! For 2 hours, tried myself to bring it out but it was too aggressive, growling menacingly and defensively scratching to keep me away.

Called few departments for help then one could, but I don't want it to be culled. Finally, kudos to a team of Singapore Police and Civil Defence Force to help catch the burglar but it escaped.

Beware this fugitive is still on the loose! What a creepy yet interesting night to remember.

995 NUMBER MIGHT CALL YOU, DON'T BE SURPRISED

$

Dear A.S.S. Editor

With the recent spate of spammers using phone numbers belonging to the police and other authorities to dupe people, the SCDF has moved to quell the misuse of their number by announcing that their emergency hotline number 995 will be displayed on telephones' caller ID. This is a further enhancement to the call taking feature of the SCDF operation centre.

Currently, mobile phones and land lines will display "unknown number", "private number" or "no called ID" when the operations centre contact the numbers. However, SCDF reminds the public that if the numbers displayed begins with +995 followed by other numbers (+995 xxx xxxx), this call is not from the SCDF operations centre. They also explained that the operation centre will call the numbers because once they have dispatched resources to an emergency, they might require more information on the latest development of the emergency.

Although it will be somewhat strange if you see 995 calling you. Unnerving even. Why would an emergency number call you, would probably be your first thought.

CHEAT TRIES TO SCAM ON CAROUSELL, GETS ARRESTED BY POLICE

Dear A.S.S. Editor

A 28 year old man who allegedly tried to sell NTUC shopping vouchers on Carousell, have been arrested by the police for the scam. The man had allegedly tried to make a quick profit by selling the vouchers but did not give his buyer the agreed amount after receiving the payment.

The police had received a report from a victim on May 16, who purchased S$500 worth of NTUC Fairprice vouchers from the man at a discounted price of S$470. After payment was made by the victim, she discovered that the envelope contained only S$250 worth of NTUC vouchers. The suspect then became uncontactable.

So many scams happening everywhere. It seems easy now for anyone to fall prey to such scams. In our pursuit of finding cheap things to buy online, we maybe let our guard down, and become easy targets for cheats like this.

IKEA CHICKEN WINGS WILL RETURN, JUST DON'T KNOW WHEN

Dear A.S.S. Editor

IKEA Singapore has said that the popular chicken wings will return back on its menu, but only when a suitable supplier is found. They stopped short of announcing when the popular item will return back to their menu, but they did say they were still in the process of looking for an alternative supplier.

This cam after their previous supplier form Malaysia had to slaughter chickens when they are much younger due to an upsurge in global demands. This means that the chicken wings were smaller than what IKEA customers had been enjoying.

So, we just have to wait that little bit longer before we get to eat those delicious chicken wings again. A little of patience, but we urged IKEA to please hurry up and find that alternative supplier soon!

A traffic police officer was spotted lying on a field at 260 Serangoon Road in a pool of his own blood after an alleged accident with a van. It is unclear how the accident happened.

Witnesses at the scene say a fellow police officer was trying to resuscitate the fallen colleague with the help of foreign workers who were in the vicinity. They helped by taking off the injured officer's clothes to prepare for CPR and other emergency treatment when the paramedics arrive.

The gravely injured police officer has been sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and his situation is currently unknown. We wish him a speedy recovery.

Update: SSG Nadzrie Matin has passed away from his injuries. The driver has been arrested for negligent driving causing death.

MEDIACORP TELLS 70YR OLD VETERAN ACTRESS TO TAKE TWO-THIRDS PAY CUT

$

Dear A.S.S. Editor

I am totally disgusted at how Mediacorp treats its veteran actor when negotiating for a new contract. Granted, the person is 70 years old, and her sell by date for the company has possibly been long gone. But if this how you negotiate, then this shows how much value you put in your older staff, whether they are well known actors or just normal behind the cameras staff.

In a media interview, veteran Chinese actress Jin Yinji said she was shown no respect during contract talks in January last year. She already had three dramas on her plate then, but the company not only wanted her to take a pay cut of two-thirds or more but also hurt her self-esteem. She said "You can talk to me nicely, you don't have to say, 'If I have to hire you to act, I might as well hire a $50-an-hour bit player.'" This shows how much respect the company had for their own staff.

Jin had been with Mediacorp for 30 years was voted one of the company's Top 20 Most Popular Artistes more than once. She felt she could still do her job. Also, producers were using her, and she did not understand why she had to take a pay cut. Jin has said she has since let the incident go, and has put the unhappy episode behind her.

Dear A.S.S. Editor

In the wake of the recent arrests made at the Ramadan Bazaar in Geylang where illegal foreign workers were nabbed by the authorities, another Singaporean have been charged for hiring foreigners to work in night markets found all over Singapore.

Sao Wei Loon, 40 years old, was charged in court over hiring 19 Indonesian nationals without valid work passes to work illegally as stall assistants at three pasar malam or night markets last year. The illegal workers were hired to work from anything from three days to more than three weeks, and the offences were committed between June and September 2016.

No mentions were made on what happened to the illegal workers who were hired by Sao.

SERIAL CHEAT CONNED WOMAN OF LIVE SAVINGS 8 MTHS AFTER RELEASE FROM PRISON

$

Dear A.S.S. Editor

Read in the news today about a female con artist who had been previously jailed for 7 years for cheating, had immediately cheated again barely eight months after her release from prison. She will now return to jail and spend another seven years behind bars, this time for cheating a patient she befriended in hospital of more than $330,000.

The woman, Wong Say Foon, 53, had apparently became good friends with Madam Teo Tiam, 59, when they were staying at the same ward at Singapore General Hospital in April 2014. She had conned Madam Teo that she received a generous inheritance from her Mongolian grandfather and was building a bungalow in Bukit Timah, and when they met again barely a week after Wong was discharged, Wong told her that she had struck lottery. She then conned Madam Teo into transferring $337,000 into Wong's account as money for investment opportunities.

Within a six week period, Wong had used up $207,666 of Madam Teo's money. Police only managed to recover $100,000 when a police report was made. Most of the hard earned money of Madam Teo had already been used by Wong by then. Seems like Wong cannot help herself from cheating people of their money, and now, she would have to spend time behind familiar surroundings for her in jail again.

GRABHITCH DRIVER MOLESTS CHIOBU, SAYS "YOU HAVE SUPER LEGS!"

$

A GrabHitch driver has been accused of molesting and harassing his passenger, who posted her ordeal on Facebook.

According to the female passenger, she had booked a GrabHitch vehicle to travel from Marina Boulevard to Beach Road. Being a gracious passenger, she decided to sit in front. She writes: "I generally sit in front for hitch cos they aren't grab drivers but just random Singaporeans like you and me, on the way to somewhere and pick people along their route for extra cash.."

She was initially hesitant because the driver looked a bit "dodgy", but decided not to judge a book by its cover and sat in front. Throughout the ride, there was nothing amiss as there was little conversation between the driver and his passenger apart from some questions about directions.

However, trouble started at the end of the journey, when the passenger's legs accidentally brushed against the GrabHitch driver's hands, which were placed on the gear stick of the car. She quickly apologize for this accidental contact, but was shocked when the driver turned to her and said:

"You have super legs!"

The passenger was taken aback and replied: "Huh?"

To which the driver repeated with a creepy smile: "I think your legs are super sexy!"

At this point, the passenger was outraged and tried to settle the payment as fast as she could. When it was settled, she said a quick thanks and tried to leave the car, only for the driver to start stroking her leg and said with a perverted expression on his face:

"I really... love your legs."

The passenger has lodged a complaint with Grab, but was met with a customer service officer who was unsympathetic to her plight. She has since lodged a police report to get the driver suspended.

HAWKER CENTRE TO INTRODUCE MANDATORY TRAY RETURN POLICY

$

Dear A.S.S. Editor

A new hawker centre in Admiralty, which is scheduled to open in September this year, will introduce a mandatory tray and utensils return policy to all the diners there. The Kampung Admiralty Hawker Centre, to be operated by NTUC Foodfare, laid out their plans today for the opening of the hawker centre, including the mandatory tray return policy.

When asked how they were going to impose such a rule to local diners, who are notorious for not returning used trays and utensils, a spokesperson said that they are not intending to give financial incentives to diners who return their trays, but instead, staff and cleaners will be on hand to impose and remind diners of the policy. They will also introduce positive reinforcements measures, such as on-site house-rule messaging at the hawker centre, while tray-return stations will be “conveniently placed”.

No word on whether diners will be fined if they failed to return their trays once this mandatory policy takes effect.

Peak hour delay this evening caused by "system level performance checks on new signalling system": SMRT

Train service on the NS line was disrupted at about 6.20 pm this evening causing massive crowd pileup on the platform as trains had to stop on the tracks leading to at least 15 mins' delays.

According to SMRT in an elaborate explanation, this was due to "system level performance checks on the new signalling system" Now this begs the question: why test during peak hours?

Redditor BurstJoe's wife spotted these ofo bike being parked indiscriminately in the lift of their HDB block. As she was pregnant, she was unable to move the bikes out of the lift on her own.

She took photos of the bikes being parked indiscriminately and asked her domestic helper to help carry them out. It is unclear why anybody would park their rental bikes in the lifts.

Guess laziness and the retardation of some rental bike users are now beyond comprehension.
